What does the finished repair actually look like?

Like the wall did before, which sounds obvious and is the whole job. The new board goes in level with what's around it, and the joint gets taped and coated in stages. Then the finish is carried well past the repair, so there's no hard edge for your eye to land on. When it's done we walk the room with you and look along the wall from where you normally sit.

If anything is still standing proud in that light, it gets another coat before we call it done. You'll know when the wall is ready for your paint, because we'll say so while you're standing there.
